Historic Vatican City Concert to Stream Live on Disney+

A landmark cultural and spiritual concert co-directed by Pharrell Williams and Andrea Bocelli will take place in St. Peter’s Square this September, marking the first-ever event of its kind in Vatican City.
In a groundbreaking announcement, The Walt Disney Company revealed that Vatican City will host its first concert in history at St. Peter’s Square. The event, co-directed by Pharrell Williams and Maestro Andrea Bocelli, is scheduled for September 13, 2025, and will stream live exclusively on Disney+, Hulu, and ABC News Live.
The performance closes the third World Meeting on Human Fraternity and serves as a highlight of the 2025 Jubilee Year. It is being described as both a cultural milestone and a spiritual gathering, designed to merge music, reflection, and visual storytelling under the theme of global unity and fraternity.
The all-star lineup features Pharrell Williams alongside the Voices of Fire Gospel Choir, Andrea Bocelli, Karol G, John Legend, Clipse, Teddy Swims, Jelly Roll, Angélique Kidjo, and Brandon Lake. They will be joined by international choristers, offering a unique blend of genres and traditions on one historic stage.
Adding to the spectacle, Nova Sky Stories will deliver a dazzling aerial drone and light show inspired by the Sistine Chapel. This visual display is expected to transform the skies above St. Peter’s Square into an extension of the artistic and spiritual heritage within Vatican walls.
Pharrell Williams called the event a “rare cultural moment” where the world can unite around messages of grace and unity. Andrea Bocelli highlighted the deep spiritual significance of performing in such a sacred location, noting its message of brotherhood and peace. Cardinal Mauro Gambetti emphasized that the concert is meant to turn fraternity from an idea into “concrete action.”
Behind the scenes, Jesse Collins Entertainment leads production, with Adam Blackstone as musical director. The creative team promises a blend of artistry and meaning that matches the weight of the setting and occasion.
For audiences worldwide, the live broadcast on Disney+, Hulu, and ABC News Live ensures this unprecedented celebration of music and fraternity will reach millions across cultures and continents.
This concert, titled in press materials as Pharrell Williams & Andrea Bocelli: Live from St. Peter’s Square, is positioned as more than just a performance. It is intended as a spiritual and cultural milestone, symbolizing unity through music on one of the world’s most iconic stages.
