Rachel Brosnahan Shines in Prime Video Spotlight Ahead of Superman Debut

Prime Video crowns Rachel Brosnahan its “Super Woman” in a new video tribute, revisiting her standout roles as she prepares to become Lois Lane.
Prime Video is putting the spotlight on Rachel Brosnahan with a new promotional short titled Rachel Brosnahan: Our Very Own Super Woman | Prime & Unwind. The tribute showcases her acclaimed performances in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Courier, and I’m Your Woman, positioning the Emmy-winning actress as a streaming icon with dramatic range, and as a future Lois Lane.
The video arrives as Brosnahan gears up for a major leap into the DC Universe. She will star opposite David Corenswet in Superman (2025) as Lois Lane, a role that has already generated considerable buzz. Prime Video’s timing underscores its role in cultivating Brosnahan’s career, especially through her breakout role in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, Maisel ran from 2017 to 2023 and earned Brosnahan a Primetime Emmy and two Golden Globes. She played Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a 1950s housewife-turned-stand-up-comic. The show remains one of Prime Video’s most awarded originals, boasting a 90% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and a devoted fan base.
In The Courier, Brosnahan portrayed CIA officer Emily Donovan alongside Benedict Cumberbatch. Directed by Dominic Cooke, the Cold War thriller was based on the real-life spy Greville Wynne and focused on events surrounding the Cuban Missile Crisis. Brosnahan’s performance brought depth to a tense historical drama that premiered at Sundance in 2020.
The third featured title is I’m Your Woman, a 1970s-set crime drama in which Brosnahan plays Jean, a housewife forced to flee with a baby after her criminal husband disappears. Directed by Julia Hart, the film had a limited theatrical run before landing on Prime Video in December 2020. Critics praised Brosnahan’s nuanced turn in a genre far removed from her comedic roots.
The Prime & Unwind tribute not only celebrates Brosnahan’s past work but also frames her as a key figure in Prime Video’s identity. From the emotional arcs of Maisel to the grit of I’m Your Woman, she embodies the platform’s commitment to rich, character-driven stories across genres.
