New on Disney+: 2025 Releases

From true crime and superhero sagas to animated revivals and courtroom drama, Disney+ and Hulu are making a bold play for dominance in 2025 with a packed slate of originals and fan-favorite returns.

Disney+ has just dropped its “Coming Soon in 2025” preview, unveiling a packed calendar of upcoming releases across both Disney+ and Hulu. The announcement showcases the streaming giant’s aggressive push into original content, blending franchise nostalgia with fresh, genre-diverse storytelling. Heavy hitters like Ryan Murphy and Destin Daniel Cretton are leading new titles, while viewer favorites like Only Murders in the Building and Percy Jackson return with new seasons.

Among the most buzzworthy new series is All’s Fair, a legal drama helmed by Ryan Murphy. Set to premiere in Fall 2025, the show stars Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, and Sarah Paulson, and follows a fierce team of female divorce attorneys striking out on their own. With production wrapped in March, expectations are high for this high-gloss courtroom drama.

For comedy lovers, Chad Powers hits Hulu on September 30, 2025. The sports-themed series based on Eli Manning’s viral alter ego stars Glen Powell and comes from creators Powell and Michael Waldron. The show will debut with two episodes, followed by weekly releases, and boasts a cast that includes Steve Zahn and Perry Mattfeld.

Marvel fans can look forward to Wonder Man, debuting in December 2025. This MCU miniseries stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and brings back Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery. Created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, the show explores the Hollywood-flavored origin of Simon Williams, Marvel’s famed actor-turned-Avenger.

Sci-fi meets horror in Alien: Earth, a prequel to the iconic Alien franchise. Created by Noah Hawley, this FX on Hulu series is set two years before the 1979 film and premieres August 12, 2025, with a double-episode drop. It stars Sydney Chandler and Timothy Olyphant, and wrapped filming in July, promising a polished, chilling return to xenomorph territory.

The true-crime adaptation The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox arrives August 20, 2025, on Disney+. Grace Van Patten plays Knox in this dramatized retelling produced by K.J. Steinberg, with Knox herself and Monica Lewinsky involved as producers. The series launches with two episodes and continues weekly.

Returning series include King of the Hill, back for Season 14 on August 4, 2025. All ten episodes will release at once on Hulu, with international availability as a Star Original. Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2, based on The Sea of Monsters, premieres in December and has already secured a Season 3 renewal. Meanwhile, Only Murders in the Building is expected to return later in 2025.

On the movie front, Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires debuts on Disney Channel July 10 and lands on Disney+ the next day. The musical film reunites Meg Donnelly and Milo Manheim for another supernatural teen adventure.
