Jason Clarke Faces a Deadly Prison Break in Apple TV+’s The Last Frontier

Apple TV+ has dropped the first trailer for The Last Frontier, a suspense-packed drama where a U.S. Marshal in Alaska confronts violent fugitives after a mysterious plane crash. The series premieres October 10, 2025.
In The Last Frontier, Jason Clarke plays Frank Remnick, a U.S. Marshal whose quiet Alaskan town is shaken when a prison transport plane crashes nearby. Dozens of dangerous inmates escape into the wilderness, forcing Remnick into a desperate fight to protect his community. The crash, however, appears less like an accident and more like the first move in a calculated conspiracy.
The series is created by Jon Bokenkamp, the mind behind NBC’s The Blacklist, with direction from Sam Hargrave, best known for Netflix’s Extraction films. This combination promises a high-octane thriller that blends sharp storytelling with adrenaline-driven action sequences.
Dominic Cooper takes on the role of Havlock, a hooded criminal who seems central to the chaos. The cast also includes Haley Bennett as CIA operative Sydney Scoffield, Simone Kessell as Frank’s wife Sarah, Tait Blum as their son Luke, and Academy Award nominee Alfre Woodard as Bradford. Dallas Goldtooth rounds out the ensemble as Hutch.
The trailer, titled The Last Frontier — Official Trailer | Apple TV+, showcases sweeping Alaskan landscapes contrasted with tense shootouts and close combat. It highlights both the survivalist tone of the series and its throwback homage to 1990s action thrillers such as Point Break and Enemy of the State, as noted by creator Bokenkamp.
Apple TV+ has set an ambitious rollout for the 10-episode season. The first two episodes debut October 10, followed by weekly releases every Friday leading to the finale on December 5, 2025. This staggered schedule mirrors the platform’s approach with other prestige dramas, building momentum week after week.
Jason Clarke also serves as an executive producer, adding weight to the project both on-screen and behind the scenes. The combination of star power, creative pedigree, and a rugged neo-western setting positions The Last Frontier as one of Apple TV+’s flagship fall releases.
For fans of conspiracy thrillers, survival dramas, or action-packed streaming series, The Last Frontier offers a gripping mix of genres that could make it a breakout hit.
