AMC’s FearFest Returns With Over 650 Hours of Scares for Halloween 2025

AMC has dropped the first teaser for FearFest 2025, confirming the return of its iconic horror marathon with a massive lineup of classics, modern hits, and curated picks from Janelle Monáe.
AMC Networks has officially confirmed that FearFest 2025 is on the way, releasing the teaser video “FearFest | 2025 Teaser | AMC” on September 17. The annual horror programming event will run across AMC and AMC+, cementing its place as one of television’s biggest Halloween traditions.
This year’s event will kick off on September 27 and continue until October 31. Across more than 650 hours of programming, fans will be able to revisit a mix of horror staples and modern genre favorites, ensuring that there’s something for every kind of scare-seeker during spooky season.
The lineup draws heavily on legendary franchises. A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Final Destination all feature prominently. AMC is also spotlighting Stephen King’s cinematic legacy, offering a marathon with It (2017), The Shining, Misery, Pet Sematary, and Cujo among the highlights.
Additional classics will also air throughout the month. Audiences can expect The Exorcist, Poltergeist, The Conjuring, Tremors, Scream 4, Child’s Play, and An American Werewolf in London, each chosen to represent horror’s most enduring touchstones.
On the streaming side, AMC+ will host an exclusive selection curated by host Janelle Monáe, who reprises her role as FearFest’s “HalloQueen.” Her handpicked favorites lean into suspense and psychological chills, including Hitchcock classics like The Birds, Psycho, and Rear Window.
FearFest is a proven ratings winner for AMC. Last year’s marathon attracted 780,000 total viewers, underlining its status as appointment viewing for horror fans. With the growing popularity of Halloween programming across streaming platforms, FearFest remains a leader in marathon-style horror entertainment.
The event’s history stretches back to its early days as “Monsterfest” before AMC rebranded it in 2008. Since then, FearFest has become synonymous with October horror viewing, helping bridge generations of fans with its mix of old and new scares.
With its combination of star power, curated streaming content, and a massive film lineup, FearFest 2025 looks set to once again dominate the Halloween season. For many, the release of this teaser signals the official countdown to October chills.
