Frozen Broadway Musical Now Streaming Globally on Disney+

Disney+ brings the West End’s magical production of Frozen: The Hit Broadway Musical to living rooms worldwide, starting June 20, 2025.

Disney has officially unveiled Frozen: The Hit Broadway Musical for streaming on Disney+ as of June 20, 2025. Captured live at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane, the production stars Samantha Barks as Elsa and Laura Dawkes as Anna. This proshot release marks a major moment for fans unable to attend the acclaimed musical in person, expanding access to a theatrical spectacle previously limited to stage audiences.

The musical is based on Disney’s 2013 animated phenomenon Frozen, but offers a deeper, more nuanced take on the beloved tale. Featuring a book by Jennifer Lee, the film’s original writer and director, the adaptation blends fan-favorite songs with 12 new numbers by Oscar-winning duo Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The result is a rich reimagining that preserves the heart of the story while elevating it for the stage.

Filmed during its celebrated West End run, the production showcases a stellar cast including Jammy Kasongo as Kristoff, Craig Gallivan as Olaf, Oliver Ormson as Hans, and Richard Frame as the Duke of Weselton. Direction by Tony Award winner Michael Grandage and choreography by Rob Ashford deliver a visually stunning experience worthy of the Disney legacy.

Frozen: The Hit Broadway Musical enjoyed an impressive 825-performance run on Broadway before closing in March 2020. Its London production opened in August 2021 and ran through September 2024, earning four Olivier Award nominations, including Best New Musical. Critics praised its elaborate staging, emotional depth, and fresh musical numbers.

The Disney+ release joins the growing trend of streaming platforms bringing Broadway to global audiences, much like Hamilton did in 2020. This move further democratizes access to live theater, offering a front-row experience to millions of subscribers around the world.

With its timeless themes of sisterhood, courage, and self-discovery, the musical remains as emotionally resonant as ever. From the iconic “Let It Go” to new showstoppers like “Monster,” the score delivers both nostalgia and surprise, reawakening the magic for fans of all ages.
