New on Disney+ and Hulu: September 2025

From live-action reimaginings to animated Marvel chaos, Disney+ and Hulu are unleashing one of their most stacked months yet.
Disney+ has unveiled its official Next On Disney+, September 2025 trailer, giving fans a first look at the packed slate arriving this month. The lineup ranges from long-awaited remakes to buzzy originals and franchise favorites, signaling an aggressive content push across Disney+, Hulu, and ABC. Highlights include the live-action Lilo & Stitch, the premiere of Marvel Zombies, and fresh seasons of Only Murders in the Building and Futurama.
The star of the lineup is undoubtedly Lilo & Stitch (2025), which premieres September 3. The live-action remake brings the beloved Hawaiian tale to a new generation, blending heartfelt storytelling with updated visuals. The film is positioned as one of Disney’s biggest streaming draws this fall, alongside Marvel’s long-anticipated animated project, Marvel Zombies, which hits Disney+ on September 24.
On the series front, Hulu continues its winning streak. Only Murders in the Building returns with Season 5 on September 9, introducing Christoph Waltz, Renée Zellweger, and Logan Lerman as a “new mob of New York.” New episodes drop weekly through September, promising more twists with Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez leading the charge. Meanwhile, Futurama Season 13 lands September 15, bringing back the iconic sci-fi satire for more irreverent adventures.
Variety is the keyword this September. The new FX drama The Lowdown debuts with a two-episode premiere on September 23, while Hulu closes out the month with Chad Powers on September 30, a football comedy starring Glen Powell. Powell has described the show—co-created with Michael Waldron and backed by Peyton and Eli Manning—as “Mrs. Doubtfire but with football,” adding to its quirky appeal.
Disney+ also leans into family and factual entertainment. September 19 sees a triple drop with LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past, Swiped—a rom-com set against the backdrop of Tinder and Bumble—and Dolphins Up Close with Bertie Gregory, a nature documentary highlighting oceanic beauty. Fans of live television will also see Dancing with the Stars return for Season 34 starting September 16.
With such an eclectic mix, September 2025 underscores Disney’s multi-platform strategy: major films and franchise projects on Disney+, edgy originals on Hulu, live events on ABC, and prestige storytelling on FX. Together, they offer subscribers no shortage of reasons to tune in.
