New on Disney+: August 2025 Releases
Disney+ is going all in this August with a lineup packed with Marvel spin-offs, nostalgic revivals, and eye-opening documentaries. From Wakandan spies to a new season of “King of the Hill,” there’s something for every viewer.
Disney+ has revealed its August 2025 slate, spotlighting a bold mix of animated Marvel stories, returning fan favorites, and real-life dramas. The lineup includes Eyes of Wakanda, a stylish animated entry in the MCU, and Alien: Earth, a gritty prequel to the sci-fi classic. Together, they anchor a month that reflects the platform’s evolving streaming strategy.
The return of King of the Hill marks one of the month’s most talked-about revivals. Now in season 14, the show reunites audiences with Hank, Peggy, and a grown-up Bobby Hill as they adjust to modern life after years abroad. All episodes land August 4, with Saladin K. Patterson as showrunner.
The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox also debuts new episodes weekly starting August 20. This dramatic reimagining of the high-profile legal case stars Grace Van Patten, with Knox herself onboard as executive producer. The series has already sparked debate about perspective and narrative control in true-crime storytelling.
Kids and families are in for a treat as well. Iron Man and His Awesome Friends, a preschool animated series, premieres August 12 on Disney Jr., introducing a young Tony Stark and crew to a new generation. Meanwhile, LEGO Disney Princess: Villains Unite arrives August 25 with classic characters reimagined in colorful brick form.
Documentary lovers can explore The Kingdom, a nature series arriving August 14, or The Last Rhinos: A New Hope, a National Geographic special chronicling conservationist Ami Vitale’s quest to save the northern white rhino. From drama to science, Disney+ continues broadening its reach.
